Many times cars are damaged by overspray and the owners are unaware of it until the car is washed or detailed.
Overspray is usually caused by paint being applied in an area of high winds. This mist can be carried up to a quarter mile.
The cost of repairing the damage done by the overspray, is determined by the severity of the overspray, and they type of paint used.
Epoxys and enamels are very difficult to remove, but latex and water based paints are usually easier to remove.
There are several effective techniques, that a qualified technician can utilize, depending on the situation.
The most effective technique to remove overspray, that we have found out, is to utilize specialized blocks, designed for overspray removal.
These blocks float accross the paint with a special lubricant and they pick up the overspray without the use of harsh chemicals.
Many detailers who are not qualified, or properly trained, will use harsh chemicals that can damage the surface of your vehicle, including the original paint. The best windshield you will ever have is the original windshield installed by the factory. Many technicians install aftermarket glass improperly. Many lease companies will not accept a lease turn in with non OEM aftermarket glass.
